5. TCU Horned Frogs

All-Time Record: 63-25-1, Texas

Thus far on the list, the TCU Horned Frogs gave Texas football the most difficulties of late and have the highest winning percentage in the history of the rivalry. Texas and TCU is a battle of swings of momentum between these two schools that currently have solid coaching regimes leading the way.

It’s not necessarily the fan base that causes the Longhorns fans to dislike the Horned Frogs. TCU has one of the smaller fan bases of all the Big 12 schools. But the fans can be annoying when playing at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth just because Texas was so bad there of late.

However, the signs are looming that there could be a reversal of fortunes against stingy head coach Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs. Tom Herman is doing much better against TCU than Mack Brown did at the back end of his tenure and Charlie Strong did in his three years on the Forty Acres.

Although, Texas did have an impressive win streak against the Horned Frogs from 1968-1991, getting victories in 24 games in a row. TCU did win five of its first six meetings after joining the Big 12 over the Longhorns. Texas got revenge at home last season with a decisive 31-16 victory over TCU.
