3. Arkansas Razorbacks

All-Time Record: 56-22-0, Texas

It is nice to see that Texas football and the Arkansas Razorbacks still make the concerted efforts to face each other despite not being in the same conference anymore. The Longhorns and Razorbacks don’t sit that far apart geographically. But both are at very different points for their respective programs heading into the 2019 regular season.

Arkansas will be trying to move past a two-win season under second-year head coach Chad Morris. This heads up plenty of ups and downs for the Razorbacks under Morris and former head coach Bret Bielema over the better part of the past 10 years.

However, Texas and Arkansas used to play in an incredible amount of heated rivalry games with loads of national relevance. The 1969 meeting between these two teams, now known to some as the “Game of the Century, featured a No. 1 Texas squad facing No. 2 Arkansas. That saw Texas claim a national title by beating Arkansas by the final score of 15-14.

But the most recent meeting between Texas and Arkansas saw Bielema’s team bludgeon Charlie Strong’s in the Texas Bowl in 2014 by the final score of 31-7. It won’t be long until the Longhorns and Razorbacks meet on the gridiron again. They have a road game planned against the Razorbacks as part of the 2021 non-conference schedule.
