An even more interesting depth option for Texas football this coming season along the defensive line is senior defensive tackle D’Andre Christmas-Giles. Over the course of his previous three years on the Forty Acres, Christmas-Giles racked up six total tackles, one sack, and one fumble recovery.

Christmas-Giles at least contributed a bit more to the cause of the Longhorns defense than Chisholm did in the last three seasons. Granted, neither contributed a whole lot outside of special teams. That could all change this coming season.

Since defensive tackle is rather thin for the Longhorns beyond redshirt freshman Keondre Coburn and senior Gerald Wilbon, it will be key for both Christmas-Giles and Chisholm to be prepared for whatever lies ahead this fall. Coburn was the named starter, but Wilbon should still get a significant amount of playing time to anchor the line.

Nonetheless, the 6-foot-3 and 290 pound former four-star recruit Christmas-Giles still has plenty of talent that he brings to the table if he can finally rise to the occasion. This will be his first real opportunity to contribute in the front seven for the Longhorns among the top three defensive tackles on the depth chart.
