The most notable name on this list finds himself at odds in the receiving corps in 2019. The speedy track star and long-time Longhorns deep threat wide receiver John Burt is finally entering the final year of his eligibility. He didn’t do a whole lot for this Texas football offense last season.

Playing in just two games and hauling in just a single catch in 2018, Burt was able to take a redshirt year and this is his fifth year on the Forty Acres. Burt has 58 catches for 844 career receiving yards and four touchdowns.

The problem for Burt is the fact that his production actually dipped in each of his previous four seasons with the Longhorns. He posted 457 receiving yards and two scores during his freshman campaign way back in 2015. Since then, he hasn’t eclipsed 205 receiving yards in any of three seasons.

A receiving corps that does have a lot of talent, but features a lot of youth outside of seniors Collin Johnson and Devin Duvernay, could use contributions from another notable senior like Burt. He could still be a change of pace for Herman and offensive coordinator Tim Beck as a deep threat for this passing game.
