Texas Football: Game-by-game predictions for the Longhorns in 2019
How will the 2019 regular season play out for Texas football, with more hype than ever in the past five years put on the shoulders of head coach Tom Herman?
The 2019 college football regular season will be shortly upon us. Texas football kicks off their 2019 regular season slate at home on Aug. 31 against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs out of the Conference-USA. Week 0 action is now out of the way with a couple thrilling games that were definitely worth the watch for general college football fans.
In Week 0 action, the No. 8 ranked Florida Gators took down former Texas assistant coach Manny Diaz and the Miami Hurricanes in a 24-20 thriller. Then, a game that flew under-the-radar at night saw the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors upset former Texas A&M Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin and the Arizona Wildcats on a missed last-second run that fell just short by star quarterback Khalil Tate.
However, Texas gets three key games out of its way in the first three weeks of the regular season. Texas plays two teams out of Louisiana in the first two weeks and then the Rice Owls at a neutral site a NRG Stadium in Week 3. The Big 12 opener falls in Week 4 at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Sep. 21.
Win totals for Texas have them at 9.5 for the 2019 campaign. That leaves them only trailing the Oklahoma Sooners for the highest win total over/under of any Big 12 team. Texas does have a difficult schedule ahead, but there is the opportunity to take another step forward in 2019.
Here’s a look at the definitive game-by-game predictions for the Texas Longhorns football program just ahead of the start of the 2019 regular season.
