3. Texas is Green at defensive back and it shows

Despite having three returning starters in Caden Sterns, Brandon Jones, and B.J. Foster, the real test for the secondary this season was not going to be the safeties; it was going to be the cornerbacks.

And in this game, they showed that while they are talented, there is much work to be done. KOBE Boyce was beat repeatedly, and while Jalen Green held his own, he did not attack the ball or get his head turned around at key points in the game, which allowed for three LSU wide receivers to go over 100 yards.

It is early in the season, and growing pains are to be expected, especially at corner where you are often left on an island. But if this area isn’t fixed (and soon) Texas could lose more winnable games in the future.
