1. Texas can win the Big 12

The goal this year is to win the Big 12. A win or a loss to LSU was going to have to no sway as to whether the Longhorns in fact won it, but it would tell us whether the goal was reasonable. And while the outcome was disappointing on Saturday, the Longhorns did show that they have the talent to play with anyone they will face in 2019. Two examples serve as evidence of this.

Due to mistakes and excellent play from Joe Burrow, the Longhorns entered the 3rd quarter down 20-7. Many teams would have simply said “It is not our day.” But Tom Herman, speaking to reporters, mentioned that if Texas stayed focus they would be fine.

And Texas was able to rally, cutting the game to one possession multiple times during the game and showing that they would not quit until the final whistle.
