Texas Football: 4 takeaways from the last-second loss to LSU

Final thoughts
This showing is important, because this is likely not going to be the last time that the Longhorns will have to come from behind during this season. But, they showed that have the offensive talent to compete with anyone, and besides Oklahoma, the Longhorns will likely not face a team as talented as LSU in the future. This will allow them to put up points and make stops that they were not able to on Saturday.
The other example is Ehlinger. Ehlinger did not start the game in great fashion, but down the stretch he was as lethal as Burrow, throwing for 401 yards and four touchdowns as well as rushing for 60 yards and another touchdown. Ehlinger did not blink when Texas was down, stayed within his game, and showed why he is a Heisman candidate. As long as Ehlinger is healthy, the Longhorns will be in every game that they play.
In order to be nationally relevant, you have to be a perennial conference contender. If nothing else, the Longhorns did show that they have enough at their disposal to win the Big 12, and that is the ultimate definer of failure or success this season.
