6. Kansas State Wildcats

Like I said previously, there is little to no separation in the lower-to-middle tier of the Big 12 this season. The way the Big 12 showed out last weekend showed that this conference could be very deep top-to-bottom. The very fact that Kansas handled a solid team like Boston College on a weeknight game on the road makes for a fun season in the Big 12.

However, the Kansas State Wildcats were another team that showed out in Week 3 and could make for a difficult opponent for Texas football in 2019. Kansas State is also settling in with a new head coach in former North Dakota State Bisons leaders Chris Klieman.

It seems like there was a perfect fit in the roster transition between former legendary Kansas State head coach Bill Snyder and Klieman. That Week 3 road win over former Penn State Nittany Lions offensive coordinator Joe Moorehead and the Mississippi State Bulldogs proved that Kansas State can hang with most any Power Five team on the road.

But the Longhorns were able to get over the hump last season against Kansas State on the road. Herman is 2-0 against Kansas State since joining the Longhorns. This is one of the previous thorns in the side of the Longhorns that Herman helped this team overcome of late.
