5. Baylor Bears

Late in the season, Texas football can get a difficult run of road games in the Big 12 slate. The final road game of the regular season for the Longhorns will come against head coach Matt Rhule and the Baylor Bears. Junior quarterback Charlie Brewer is going to be a handful for any defense he faces this fall.

Facing an up and coming Baylor team at McLane Stadium isn’t going to be any easy task for the Longhorns. But Herman hasn’t had much trouble getting past Baylor since taking over on the Forty Acres. The struggles he overcame last season were mainly due to the shoulder sprain Ehlinger suffered.

Then junior quarterback Shane Buechele came through and helped Texas when they needed it most. Buechele also helped Texas make it past another difficult Big 12 opponent in the latter half of the 2018 regular season. Texas doesn’t have that quarterback depth this season, but Ehlinger could take the reigns and lead his team past Baylor for the first time in his collegiate career.

Baylor enters Big 12 play with a 3-0 record, but they have yet to play against Power Five competition. Baylor had its usual cupcake non-conference slate. But an untested Baylor team will be plenty refined by the time the Longhorns face them one week shy of Thanksgiving.
