Chris Adimora: The All-American defensive back from Lakewood, California played in mainly a special teams role for the Horns in 2019. Adimora appeared in eight games, recording nine total tackles and one pass breakup. Adimora’s most memorable moment was his onside kick recovery in the final minutes against Oklahoma State.

Roschon Johnson: Roschon Johnson is by far the most recognizable and highest contributing freshman so far from this 2019 class. The dual-threat quarterback recruit switched to the running back position in August after the cupboard became bare.

He immediately took to the position and finished with 117 carries and 600 yards (5.1 YPC) with seven rushing touchdowns. Johnson had two 100+ yard rushing games, but does plan on moving back to his original position next season.

Tyler Owens: Owens is a safety with blazing speed who played in eight games this season for the Longhorns. Mainly a special teams guy, Owens finished the season with eight total tackles. The Plano East product is very raw, but has all the tools to become a very good player in the burnt orange.

Jake Smith: The 2018/19 National Gatorade Football Player of the Year was very hyped coming into 2019, and rightfully so. It was an up and down first season for Smith, though enrolling in May, he was not afforded the opportunity to compete and learn in spring ball.

Smith played in 10 games, recording at least a catch in eight of them. He was the Longhorns fourth most productive receiver, finishing the regular season with 25 catches, 274 yards, and six touchdowns. He has a bright future on the Forty Acres.
