Texas Football: Updated redshirt chart post-2019 regular season
By Shane Black
Brayden Liebrock (2 games): Liebrock knew this was going to be a redshirt season before he even signed as he needed at least a year to add weight to his slender frame.
Liebrock possesses incredible ball skills, and when he does hit the field, will be a very tough matchup for opposing linebackers and safeties. Liebrock will be competing with three other tight ends for snaps next season, but I could also see him take snaps at X.
Marques Caldwell (1 game): The three-star defensive back barely touched the field in 2019, but there will always be a chance to work your way onto the field in what has proven to be a very volatile Texas secondary.
Jordan Whittington (1 game): Arguably the most hyped up freshman in this class, Jordan Whittington did not see the field past the opening contest against LA Tech after suffering a sports hernia injury that had been reaggravated from high school. Whittington was expected to return at some point, but never quite felt right.
Whittington may not exhaust his remaining four years of eligibility, that is how talented he is. He will use this offseason to get back to full strength, and the coaching staff should spend all winter and spring coming up with a multitude of packages to get the ball into the hands of arguably their most explosive playmaker.
