Texas Football: Updated redshirt chart post-2019 regular season
By Shane Black
Derrian Brown: The four-star running back out of Buford, Georgia has had a rough going over the past 10 months. Brown suffered a stroke back in February and has spent the season rehabbing and gaining his strength back.
Running back is a position you can never have enough depth at, just ask Tom Herman. Hopefully Brown can return to the field and suit up for the burnt orange and white next season, though his status is still up in the air.
De’Gabriel Floyd: The number three ranked inside linebacker in the class of 2019 was expected to come in and immediately contribute for the Horns, though De’Gabriel Floyd was diagnosed with spinal stenosis last spring and sat out the whole season. On Dec. 2 Floyd announced he was medically retiring from football due to the condition.
Our prayers and well wishes go out to De’Gabriel in whatever endeavors he takes on, and I would love to see coach Herman keep him around the program.
