Honorable Mentions

If the Texas basketball program could sort out all the one-and-done players they’ve been through in the last decade and keep them around longer, this list would be dramatically different. But there are a handful of one-and-done players and honorable mentions that at least still deserve a nod on this list. Here’s a look into those former Longhorns standouts.

Myles Turner (Center, 2014-2015): 10.1 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 0.6 APG, 25.5 PER, 4.0 WS

In his one season with Texas, former five-star recruit and center Myles Turner received about as many accolades as he could given he started in just seven games. He was the Big 12 Rookie of the Year and All-Big 12 in 2014-15.

Matt Coleman (Point Guard, 2017-Present): 10.4 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 3.9 APG, 13.4 PER, 7.0 WS

One of the best players currently on the Texas roster doesn’t have any major accolades yet but is off to a solid start this season, with junior guard Matt Coleman.

Kerwin Roach Jr. (Shooting Guard, 2015-2019): 11.0 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 2.9 APG, 16.4 PER, 10.0 WS

The former Texas shooting guard Kerwin Roach Jr. was the 2019 NIT MVP and a a Big 12 All-Freshman honoree in 2016.

Jaxson Hayes (Center, 2018-2019): 10.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 0.3 APG, 27.0 PER, 4.3 WS

The 2018-19 Big 12 Rookie of the Year and All-Big 12 honoree Jaxson Hayes had insane efficiency numbers during his one season with the Longhorns.

Mo Bamba (Center, 2017-2018): 12.9 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 0.5 APG, 28.3 PER, 4.8 WS

One of the best one-and-done seasons from any big man in program history came from Mo Bamba.
