3. Texas Bowl: No. 25 Oklahoma State vs. Texas A&M

Location: Houston, TX

Date: Dec. 27

The first Big 12 team to square off in bowl season this year will be Oklahoma State, taking on the Longhorns hated in-state rival Texas A&M Aggies, in the Texas Bowl. Texas A&M owns the all-time record over Oklahoma State 17-10. But Oklahoma State has a four-game winning streak built up against the Aggies. Their last meeting came before Texas A&M bolted for the SEC, in 2011.

The most common matchup that any Big 12 team has this postseason will be in the Texas Bowl between Texas A&M and Oklahoma State. This might also be the most fun coaching matchup for any Big 12 team in bowl season. Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy will take his mullet to Houston and NRG Stadium (home of the NFL’s Houston Texans) to take on head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies.

Texas A&M took on four teams that held top four rankings when they met during the regular season. Those four games of course all resulted in losses for the Aggies. They came against the Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, LSU, and Georgia. That tough slate could help the Aggies against a pretty good two-way team themselves with Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State might be without superstar redshirt sophomore running back Chuba Hubbard in the Texas Bowl to take on quarterback Kellen Mond and the Aggies. This is also an underrated Texas A&M defense that only allowed 24 points to Clemson and ranked No. 37 in the nation in points allowed per game (22.7).
