Texas Football: Position-by-position grades for 2020 recruiting class
Running backs
Bijan Robinson (Salpointe Catholic), 5-Star
The premier signee in the 2020 Texas football recruiting class through the end of the Early Signing Period is none other than the five-star Salpointe Catholic and Tuscon, AZ, native running back Bijan Robinson. Since Texas lost out on the sweepstakes to land five-star Houston, TX, running back Zachary Evans, landing the next best option was huge for this program.
A good young running back room for the Longhorns just got a lot better with Robinson inking his National Letter of Intent on Dec. 18. He was the most important recruit for the Longhorns to sign down early during the Early Signing Period. Given all the coaching staff turnover, the nation’s No. 15 2020 high school prospect needed to get locked in.
Robinson finished up his senior season at Salpointe Catholic with a whopping more than 2,500 total yards from scrimmage and 41 total touchdowns. He can make an impact obviously on the ground and in the receiving game.
Jaden Hullaby (Mansfield Timberview), 3-Star Running Back/Athlete
There’s a good chance that the sizable 6-foot-2 and 210 pound Mansfield Timberview running back/athlete signee Jaden Hullaby has to switch positions once he arrives on the Forty Acres. Since the Longhorns didn’t nab a single tight end commit in their 2020 recruiting class thus far, that might be the landing spot on the depth chart for Hullaby. But he is still a solid depth get for this class.
Keep in mind that losing three-star West Mesquite all-purpose running back Ty Jordan was a big loss at this position for the 2020 Texas recruiting class. That plays into the grade at this position, and why it’s not an A+.
