2. Potential with Prince Dorbah coming off the opposite side

The 2020 Texas football recruiting class has two important commits along the defensive line that are staples of this entire group of signees. The aforementioned Broughton is the highest rated signee along the defensive line in the 2020 recruiting class so far. But four-star Highland Park edge rusher Prince Dorbah isn’t that far behind Broughton.

And Dorbah wouldn’t be ranked that far behind Collins either. Dorbah ranks as the nation’s No. 131 2020 high school prospect and the No. 10 outside linebacker. He also ranks as a top 20 prospect in the state of Texas. This 6-foot-3 and 210 pound Dallas, TX, native also ran a very fast 4.80-second 40-yard dash time for an edge rusher.

What Dorbah and Collins both bring to the table that would work great for the Longhorns, and recently hired defensive coordinator Chris Ash, is the electric pass rush they could create. During his senior season at Cedar Creek, Collins racked up 86 total tackles, 35 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

That production that Collins posted with Cedar Creek this season earned him the 13-5 Division II Defensive Lineman of the Year honors within the state of Texas. His stock should only rise from here, as should Dorbah’s.

A defensive end that racked up 37 tackles for loss in one high school football season combined with Dorbah’s production in rushing the passer is very promising for the Longhorns. That is if Herman winds up nabbing a commitment from Collins before National Signing Day 2020.
