Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Experience: 7 years. 2. player. 42. Wide Receiver. Marquise Goodwin

Definitely one of the speediest former Texas football players that would be suiting up for his team in the NFL this season if he weren’t injured at the moment is Goodwin. He has Olympic track level speed, which is good because he apparently had intentions to compete for the United States in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Goodwin did compete for the stars and stripes in the 2012 Summer Olympics, in the long jump. But this injury he’s dealing with had to hold him back in his quest to compete with the United States in Tokyo this summer. He will now have to focus on his rehab and recovery for the 2020 NFL season with a very talented team around him.

Before he went out with injury this season, Goodwin had 12 receptions for 186 yards and one touchdown. But he was on the field for more than 50 percent of the 49ers offensive snaps for five games during the regular season. Injuries definitely ravaged what would’ve been a promising 2019 campaign for Goodwin with this breakthrough 49ers offense.

Just two seasons ago, Goodwin was flying past opposing NFL defenders while amassing nearly 1,000 receiving yards on 56 receptions. Since then, he hasn’t played in more than 11 games in either the 2018 or 2019 seasons. Hopefully injuries will stop holding back the twilight of the career of Goodwin with the 49ers soon.
