An offer that should be sent out soon for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class could go to the brother of signee Jaden Hullaby, Landon Hullaby.

Although it feels like it’s a long ways away, locking down a solid group for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class is a process that really starts this offseason. One of the most notable targets for the 2022 Texas recruiting class that is emerging early on is the brother of a three-star signee of the same program, that is Mansfield Timberview’s Landon Hullaby.

As part of the 2020 recruiting class, the Texas Longhorns football program inked down one of their more versatile signees during the Early Signing Period with three-star Mansfield Timberview athlete Jaden Hullaby. Jaden is the older brother of Landon, but will no longer be playing with him at Mansfield Timberview High School any longer.

More than a dozen schools that sent a scholarship offer Landon’s way, but the Longhorns are looking to slot themselves in the midst of a bunch of programs trying to win his interests over early on. But the Longhorns have that one key advantage of signing the National Letter of Intent of his brother Jaden.

Landon is reportedly leaning toward the Big 12 foe Oklahoma State Cowboys early on, but he seems excited about the interest from the Longhorns. Oklahoma State is one of the highlighting schools on Hullaby’s offer sheet which also includes the Arkansas Razorbacks, Baylor Bears, Nebraska Cornhuskers, USC Trojans, Utah Utes, and Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Moreover, there could be an official scholarship offer coming Landon’s way from the Longhorns soon enough. He’s got a lot working in his favor to pick up that offer from Texas. The role that his brother will play in his recruitment should be more than enough to get that soon from the Longhorns.

Landon is a 6-foot and 185 pound athlete that namely plays on the defensive side of the ball at Mansfield Timberview. The Mansfield, TX, native is mainly a defensive back, and his length could be something that catches the eye of the Longhorns.

With the recent hiring of former Rutgers head coach Chris Ash to be the next Texas defensive coordinator, the need for this program to bring in more lengthier cornerbacks is growing. Texas could use an athlete like Landon in their defensive backfield.

Hullaby’s recruitment is going to be important to watch moving forward. Head coach Tom Herman will be battling Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy to land Landon by all accounts at this point. But there’s likely a long way to go before he announces his commitment.
