1. Devin Duvernay, Wide Receiver

There is going to be more buzz surrounding the draft stock of Johnson heading into the 2020 NFL Draft than there will be for Duvernay. Texas football is just fortunate that Duvernay was able to pick up for the production in the passing game that was left back by Johnson while he was dealing with the lingering hamstring injury.

Duvernay was one of the nation’s most productive wide receivers last season, racking up more than 1,350 yards and 10 total touchdowns. It is rare to see a college football wide receiver like Duvernay rake in more than 100 receptions in a season too, but that’s something he was able to accomplish by the conclusion of the Alamo Bowl.

The 5-foot-11 and 210 pound Duvernay has incredible versatility and elusiveness that could be an immediate impact slot receiver at the next level. He proved that his track level speed can translate all over the field, and his style of play is starting to become more and more common in the NFL. Small and speedy wide receivers like Tyreek Hill of the Kansas City Chiefs and Tyler Lockett of the Seattle Seahawks are the new trend in the NFL.

The draft stock of Duvernay could still be rather volatile as he is not a bona fide early round 2020 NFL Draft pick as of yet. Events like the Senior Bowl are going to be key for him to lock in a solid draft grade heading into the NFL Combine. The Senior Bowl and NFL Combine could be the two most crucial parts of the scouting timeline for Duvernay ahead of the draft.
