Former Texas football speedy wide receiver Marquise Goodwin had an old highlight surfaced by Darrelle Revis and Richard Sherman on Twitter this week.

A former star wide receiver of the Texas football program, Marquise Goodwin now of the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers, likely won’t be playing in this year’s Super Bowl. Goodwin won’t get to face another wideout with elite track speed in the Super Bowl, against Tyreek Hill and the Kansas City Chiefs.

But this showdown between the 49ers receiving corps and the veteran former Stanford Cardinal star cornerback Richard Sherman, vs. KC, brings back memories of the good old days for Goodwin burning defensive backs when he played for the Buffalo Bills. A video and photo still that surfaced on Twitter between 49ers cornerback Sherman and former New York Jets superstar corner Darrelle Revis.

This was commonly regarded as some of the weirdest Twitter beef in recent memory between two star cornerbacks.

It all started with Revis calling out Sherman when he was beat on a deep route by Davante Adams in the 49ers win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game last weekend.

Sherman obviously responded quickly and sharply. But one of his counters involved a picture of Goodwin burning Revis back when he was a member of the Bills.

Goodwin gave his quick two cents on that Sherman counter to Goodwin beating him on a deep route back when he was a Bills wide receiver.

Here’s a look at the original video of Goodwin besting Revis on that aforementioned deep route that was Tweeted out in a photo by Sherman.

The Texas Longhorns football program will rarely ever see a player with just the insane Olympic level speed that Goodwin brings to the table. He was a special player to watch when he suited up for the Longhorns in his four years on the Forty Acres. Goodwin’s production wasn’t overwhelming by any means in those four years (less than 1,400 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his college career), but his speed was a sight to behold. The sight just didn’t last very long.

To be fair to Revis in this play, really no cornerback can keep up with the raw speed that Goodwin possesses. Goodwin ran a 10.24 second 100-meter relay time and 4.27-second 40-yard dash time in the 2013 NFL Combine.
