Texas Football: 4-Star RB target Kevontre Bradford leaning to LSU
There could be a key four-star RB target of the 2020 Texas football recruiting class that chooses between LSU and Wisconsin.
With one of the final running back targets of the 2020 Texas football recruiting class looking to take his talents outside of the Big 12 region of the country, is there anything left to do to hang onto his interests?
It appears that four-star Lancaster High School running back Kevontre Bradford has his commitment decision narrowed down to either one of two schools. Those two schools includes the Wisconsin Badgers and LSU Tigers. The 5-foot-11 and 193 pound Texas native is favored to land with LSU over Wisconsin according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions. Of the 13 Crystal Ball Predictions, 92 percent of the experts went with LSU over Wisconsin.
However, the Texas Longhorns football program was one of the top five finalist programs that were trying to add depth to their 2020 recruiting class by adding the commitment of Bradford. Although the Longhorns have already signed the National Letter of Intent for five-star Salpointe Catholic running back Bijan Robinson, adding one more four-star commit at the same position couldn’t hurt.
Texas could use the addition of a talented in-state running back like Bradford to pair along with the likes of Robinson, Roschon Johnson (if he sticks at the position), and Keaontay Ingram. But that might not become a reality in the case of Bradford.
On Jan. 24, Bradford was on campus in Baton Rouge for an official visit. That will one of his final official visits that he can take before National Signing Day 2020 arrives. His last official visit with head coach Paul Chryst and Wisconsin came way back in June 2019.
Bradford ranks as the nation’s No. 138 202 high school prospect and the No. 15 running back. He’s also the No. 21 ranked 2020 high school prospect out of the state of Texas. Bradford is one of the most highly sought after remaining uncommitted 2020 skill position recruits.
Other significant programs that offered Bradford that he cut down on the way to his possible commitment decision includes the Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Mizzou Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and USC Trojans. Oklahoma State and Texas were the two Big 12 programs that looked to have the best chance to land Bradford.
Bradford is definitely one of the recruitments left to watch ahead of National Signing Day. His commitment could add a huge impact to the 2020 recruiting class of the defending National Champions LSU. That LSU offense loses a lot of talent heading into the 2020 offseason, so Bradford would be huge for them.
