Texas Football: 3 burning questions ahead of National Signing Day
Finishing out the cycle right for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class could just mean landing a couple more solid commitments before NSD.
With the 2020 Texas football recruiting class pretty much just dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s at this point of the cycle, what is there left to do ahead of National Signing Day next month? Texas currently has a top 10 ranked 2020 recruiting class in the nation in store ahead of National Signing Day. According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2020 Texas recruiting class ranks at No. 9 in the nation and in the top spot in the Big 12 ahead of the rival Oklahoma Sooners.
But Oklahoma and the Michigan Wolverines don’t rank all that far behind Texas in the national class rankings. One decent four-star commitment and either Oklahoma or Michigan could jump Texas to claim the No. 9 spot. And there’s a good distance between Texas and the Florida Gators for the eight and nine spots in the national class rankings.
Feb. 5 marks the final day of the 2020 recruiting cycle. National Signing Day will still be important as there’a couple highly touted 2020 high school prospects that remain uncommitted. And there will always be a few flipped prospects that catch national storylines on National Signing Day.
Texas can only hope that it can round out its 2020 recruiting class with a bang. It has 17 commitments in store right now, and they’ve all signed their National Letter of Intent. Eight of them enrolled early to participate in spring camp.
