A big next eight days for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class could include three main prospects they need to focus on for National Signing Day.

There’s a little bit of time left for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class to make their final marks before National Signing Day arrives on Feb. 5. Texas will be looking to sign their third straight top 10 ranked recruiting class in the nation in less than two weeks. But head coach Tom Herman is likely to fall well short of landing his third straight top three ranked recruiting class in the nation.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2020 recruiting class for the burnt orange ranks at No. 11 in the nation and in the second spot in the Big 12. The only team in the Big 12 to rank ahead of Texas at the moment is the Oklahoma Sooners. The 2020 Oklahoma recruiting class ranks in the No. 9 spot in the nation. There is not a huge separation, though, between Texas and Oklahoma in the national class rankings.

The one program that ranks between Texas and Oklahoma in the national class rankings is the Michigan Wolverines. One highly touted three or four-star commit/signee and either one of those three programs could get quite a bit of separation between the 9-11 spots in the rankings.

Moreover, this should be a busier National Signing Day for Texas than it was for the last two years. Last year was more about retention than it was acquisition. That narrative will change come next month.

Here’s a look into the three biggest remaining targets for the 2020 recruiting class of the Texas Longhorns football program before National Signing Day arrives next month.
