A good group of 19 signees for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class locked in yet another top 10 ranking on National Signing Day.

National Signing Day 2020 was a big one for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class. Feb. 5 was mostly nice to Texas head coach Tom Herman who saw his most recent signing class pick up two additional commits in the same day. Texas had a big National Signing Day, more so than they did for the last two recruiting cycles.

Most of National Signing Day 2019 was about retention for Texas, and 2020 was about adding to a recruiting class that did need help at a few positions. Texas was able to bolster the defensive line by landing the highly touted four-star Cedar Creek strong-side defensive end Alfred Collins. And they boosted the receiving corps (at least in all likelihood) by landing the former Arkansas Razorbacks four-star Carthage wide receiver/athlete commit Kelvontay Dixon.

The two recruiting targets that Texas missed out on National Signing Day were four-star Manor strong-side defensive end Princely Umanmielen and three-star Duncanville cornerback Ennis Rakestraw. Umanmielen landed with head coach Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators and Rakestraw landed with recently hired head coach Eliah Drinkwitz and the Mizzou Tigers. Texas lost both targets to the SEC on Feb. 5.

However, what were the best parts of the 2020 signing class for Texas as we can now officially look back and reflect on what was that recruiting cycle? Part of that evaluation will be the immediate impact that these 2020 signess make once they’re on the Forty Acres.

Here’s a look into the three 2020 signees from the recruiting class of the Texas Longhorns football program who can make an instant impact.
