The NFL Combine might be the most pedestrian for Jones compared to the rest of the former Texas football players that were invited. Jones is a very refined safety that does bring a good level of versatility to the table, but also looks to have a set ceiling. This doesn’t mean that Jones can’t standout, but his tools are already pretty well-known.

At one time, Jones was the top high school safety prospect in the nation. The former five-star recruit had a slow start on the Forty Acres, but his play picked up by the start of his junior campaign. Once Orlando and Herman started to get that Longhorns secondary more instilled in Big 12 play, Jones started to settle in better.

Although the Texas secondary was one of the worst in the Big 12 over the course of the last year and a half, Jones was one of the positives. The 6-foot and 205 pound Jones racked up a career-best 86 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, four pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Jones literally did it all for the Longhorns for the last two seasons. All of his career-best significant stat categories were covered during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He’s also a capable special teams contributor, which will encompass a good amount of his draft value if he drops to the middle rounds.
