The final two names on this list were two of the four primary targets that the 2020 Texas football recruiting class had coming into National Signing Day. And the highest rated target of this 2020 class that got away from the Longhorns on Feb. 5 is four-star Manor strong-side defensive end Princely Umanmielen.

This 6-foot-4 and 250 pound stout pass rusher wound up landing with head coach Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators. In fact, both of the two biggest targets that the Longhorns missed out on last week landed in the SEC East.

Outside of the offers that Umanmielen had from Texas and Florida, he had a number of other blue bloods pursuing him. His other significant scholarship offers came from the Oklahoma Sooners, Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Oregon Ducks, Texas A&M Aggies, and USC Trojans.

Umanmielen ranks as the nation’s No. 241 2020 high school prospect and the No. 9 strong-side defensive end. He also slotted just inside the top 40 prospects out of the state of Texas. And although his last official visit ahead of National Signing Day came with Texas he took his talents to Gainesville when it was all said and done.

The final set of 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions before he announced his commitment to Florida went mostly the way of recently hired head coach Dave Aranda and Baylor. But all the coaching turnover that occurred at Baylor and Texas could’ve turned Umanmielen away from committing to either of those two schools.
