What were the fortunes for all the players that transferred out of the Texas football program over the course of the last couple years during 2019?

The NCAA Transfer Portal is such a vital part of the college football landscape in this day and age. Rarely does a Power Five program overcome the issues that can be the loss of depth heading into in an offseason thanks to the now overwhelming presence of the transfer portal. And the Texas football program lost a good amount of depth at various positions over the course of the last two years.

Head coach Tom Herman looks to be doing his best to manage the volatility that is the transfer portal cycles. The transfer portal is essentially college football and hoop’s version of free agency. Texas lost a number of key pieces at the outset of the 2019 offseason, and a lot of players that were on last year’s team already have their names in the portal prior to the start of spring camp.

Even thus far during the 2020 offseason, Texas lost a number of players to the transfer portal. That list includes defensive tackles like Gerald Wilbon and D’Andre Christmas-Giles along with to-be redshirt senior offensive guard JP Urquidez. The losses also extend to the receiving corps and quarterback room with former preferred walk-on Sam Saxton and Jordan Pouncey.

Jordan Pouncey took his talent to Gainesville to join his brother and four-star cornerback recruit Ethan Pouncey with the Florida Gators.

However, how are Texas Exes that put their names into the transfer portal during previous offseasons doing at their landing spots once their time at the Forty Acres was up?

Here’s a look into how the former players out of the Texas Longhorns football program that transferred elsewhere fared during the 2019 college football season.
