What does the Big 12 Football Conference have to offer at the quarterback position for the 2020 season, including Texas senior Sam Ehlinger?

For the 2020 college football season, the quarterback position is going to be a rather undecided group outside of the top two or three. Quarterbacks like Trevor Lawrence of the Clemson Tigers and Justin Fields of the Ohio State Buckeyes present a clear cut top two. And the rest of the returning quarterbacks get a bit more murky beyond that. But what does the Big 12 Football Conference have to add to that mix along with to-be senior Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger?

The Texas Longhorns football program got to return one of the nation’s best quarterbacks all-around with Ehlinger. He is also one of the nation’s most experienced returning quarterbacks for the 2020 college football season. Ehlinger started for the better part of the last three seasons for the Longhorns. Now, he’ll be finally looking to get the Longhorns to the realm of winning a Big 12 Championship and making the College Football Playoff.

However, there’s a number of other returning college quarterbacks that are worth mentioning that could take their teams to new heights. In the Big 12 alone, the quarterback production year-after-year elevates at least two or three players at the position to the realm of stardom. The Big 12 just has too many high-flying offenses year in and year out.

Is there anything else that the Big 12 would have to add at the quarterback position to the conversation of the best returning starters in the nation? There’s certainly a number of names worth noting as we head into spring camp.

Here’s a look into the best returning quarterbacks in the Big 12 Football Conference this season along the likes of Texas’ Ehlinger.
