Honorable Mentions

Even though the results on the field and the number of first round picks in the NFL Draft dried up a bit for the Texas football program during the 2010’s, they still had a number of participants to work off of. At least a handful of these talented participants in the NFL Combine were going to make some noise.

Malik Jefferson, Linebacker

The former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Malik Jefferson had a less than desirable run in the NFL since he departed the Forty Acres. But the former All-American Texas linebacker Jefferson did have a nice showing in the 2018 NFL Combine, including 4.52 40-yard dash time and an impressive 27 reps on the bench press.

Sam Acho, Outside Linebacker/Edge Rusher

The only name on this list that came in the first two years of the decade, Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Sam Acho had quite the showing in the 2011 NFL Combine. He had a solid 4.32 shuttle time, 6.69 second three-cone drill, and 23 reps on the bench press. Acho is currently in the midst of a fruitful nine-year NFL career.

Chris Warren, Running Back

The 2019 NFL Combine actually had a good number of outings from Texas Exes, including from running back Chris Warren. He had a very solid shuttle-time of 4.18 seconds and 25 reps on the bench press. His vertical leap wasn’t bad either for a 6-foot-2 and 250 rusher, at 33.0 inches. The only downside to his NFL Combine performance was a slower 4.69 40-yard dash time.
