A good haul for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class could amount to some fruitful results on the Forty Acres in the next year or two.

National Signing Day 2020 (Feb. 5) is well behind us now, and the 2020 Texas football recruiting class already has eight of their 19 signees in that group on campus as early enrollees. Those eight 2020 signees will be able to participate in spring camp and try to get a leg up in the competition with this valuable experience and practice reps.

Head coach Tom Herman did lock in a solid 2020 recruiting class for Texas. This was his third straight top 10 ranked recruiting class in the nation, as he’s establishing a very high standard of success entering his fourth year on the Forty Acres. Although, Texas did land two straight top three ranked signing classes in the nation prior to the 2020 recruiting cycle.

According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, Texas more specifically locked in the No. 9 ranked 2020 signing class in the nation and the top ranked group in the Big 12. The Oklahoma Sooners came close to surpassing Texas, but Herman was also able to get his third straight top ranked recruiting class in the Big 12.

If all the coaching staff changes that Herman enacted early in the offseason can help the player development and production on the gridiron starting this fall, then all this recruiting success will pay off in due time.

The highest ranked commit/signee in this 2020 class for Texas was five-star Salpointe Catholic running back Bijan Robinson. This was the first time in the last five years that Texas was able to land any top ranked skill position prospect in their particular position rankings.

Anyhow, how will Texas be able to maximize the more underrated of the 19 signees in their 2020 recruiting class? Here’s a look into the three underrated incoming freshmen worth watching from the 2020 class for the Texas Longhorns football program.
