Since the Texas football program is going to be shy on proven wide receivers entering the 2020 regular season, the depth in athletes Herman locked up in this class could be key. The Longhorns were good to get one of the faster three-star wide receiver prospects in this recruiting cycle committed with Hutto product Dajon Harrison.

The 5-foot-10 and 170 pound Hutto, TX, native wasn’t the highest ranked commitment by any means for Texas, but he does bring a level of speed and elusiveness to the table that is hard to find. Texas got a guy in Harrison that can make an impact both on special teams and in spots on offense right away.

Harrison ranks as the nation’s No. 539 2020 high school prospect and the No. 87 wide receiver. But he did rank as a top 70 prospect out of the state of Texas. The 247Sports player profile comparison for Harrison was the Nebraska Cornhuskers former star wideout J.D. Spielman.

Texas really had to dig deep for this one since Harrison was neither an ultra-highly touted recruit nor was he a player that registered a stat line that jumps off the page at you. He racked up 969 total yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns during his senior season at Hutto.

Harrison wound up choosing the Longhorns offers from a lucky 13 number of other schools. Other significant offers he had came from the TCU Horned Frogs, Kansas State Wildcats, Iowa State Cyclones, Houston Cougars, and Arizona State Sun Devils.
