The next two offensive line hauls for Texas football recruiting classes in 2020 and 2021 could be very special. The Longhorns recruited pretty well in the trenches for their 2018 and 2019 signing class, but there might be nothing that compares to the talent that is available throughout the 2021 recruiting cycle. That could entail the Longhorns landing the highly touted pair of five-star offensive tackles Tommy Brockermeyer and Savion Byrd.

However, the Longhorns shouldn’t look past the haul they had in the 2020 signing class, including the addition of four-star O’Connor offensive guard Logan Parr. This 6-foot-3.5 and 280 pound Helotes, TX, native ranks as the nation’s No. 277 2020 high school prospect and the No. 11 at his position.

There’s a lot of talk about how Parr and four-star Southlake Carroll offensive tackle Andrej Karic could have the highest ceilings of any of the offensive line signees in the 2020 class. That says a lot given the additions of four-star offensive linemen in the 2020 signing class like Jaylen Garth and Jake Majors (both of which rank in the midst of the top 200 2020 high school prospects in the nation).

Parr wound up choosing the Longhorns over competing offers from schools like the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arizona Wildcats, Florida State Seminoles, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Mizzou Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Oklahoma, and TCU. Texas locked down on the commitment of Parr early and never looked back.

He could be the type of offensive guard prospect that is ready to assume a starting role by his second year on the Forty Acres.
