Maybe the highest selected wide receiver out of the Texas football program in the 2020 NFL Draft could be the 5-foot-11 Devin Duvernay.

While the 2020 NFL Draft Combine was good to some of the former Texas football players participating in the festivities, it was not to all of them. Texas saw one former alumni shine brighter than most others that competed in the NFL Combine in general, even outside of names from this program.

That one former star wide receiver out of the Texas Longhorns football program that shined during the festivities of the 2020 NFL Draft Combine is the 5-foot-11 and 200 pound Devin Duvernay. He saw his draft stock rise much higher than fellow former Texas star wide receiver Collin Johnson did during the NFL Combine week.

In the 40-yard dash, Duvernay recorded a very impressive time of 4.39-seconds. That was good for the fifth best among a very fast class of wide receivers for the 2020 NFL Draft. The fastest 40-yard dash time at the combine went to the former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Henry Ruggs, who clocked in at a blazing 4.27 seconds.

Moreover, Duvernay also helped his draft stock by catching every single pass tossed his way at the NFL Combine. Going perfect on the pass-catching drill can be difficult, especially given the short timeframe wideouts are given to do it and how fast it happens.

Duvernay has also recorded an impressive vertical leap of about 36 inches and a 4.20-second 20-yard shuttle time. His other tests during the combine thus far resulted in a 123 inch broad jump and a 7.13 second-three cone drill time.

The latest 2020 NFL Mock Draft from drafttek.com had Duvernay falling in the fourth round (109th overall) to the Los Angeles Chargers. Duvernay could see his stock rise to around a third round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft if he finishes out the NFL Combine on the right foot.

The NFL Combine wraps up on March 2 (Monday), and Duvernay should be one of the more important wide receivers to watch the rest of the way. He is helping his case ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft more so than just about any other former Longhorn this week.
