An addition to the 2021 Texas football recruiting class that could be pretty needed after a thin haul in 2020 is at wide receiver.

Depth was hard to come by at the wide receiver position in the 2020 Texas football recruiting class, at least compared to the haul head coach Tom Herman had there in 2019. All that Texas really got at wide receiver in the 2020 recruiting class was four-star Troy Omeire and three-star Dajon Harrison. Four-star former Arkansas Razorbacks commit Kelvontay Dixon (brother of to-be junior running back Keaontay Ingram) is also likely to play wide receiver.

However, the Texas Longhorns football program should definitely be looking to add more depth at wide receiver in their 2021 recruiting class. There’s a good chance for Herman and the Longhorns to win over a pair of Florida native wide receiver prospects this week.

The first of the two wide receivers to visit this weekend that’s from the state of Florida is four-star Plant City product Mario Williams. On his Twitter timeline on March 4, Williams posted that he would be visiting the Forty Acres this weekend.

And the other of the two Florida native wideouts that will be on campus this weekend is the four-star IMG Academy product Agiye Hall. Set to declare his commitment decision within the next two weeks, Texas getting Hall on campus at this time should be pivotal. Hall posted on his Twitter timeline on the same day as Williams that he would be visiting Texas this weekend, on March 9 specifically.

Williams ranks as the nation’s No. 40 2021 high school prospect and the No. 4 wide receiver. The 5-foot-10 and 165 pound Plant City, FL, native has more than 30 schools on his offer sheet. The highlights of Williams’ offer sheet includes the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, Georgia Bulldogs, Clemson Tigers, Florida Gators, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Meanwhile, Hall ranks as the nation’s No. 65 2021 high school prospect and the No. 10 wide receiver. The 6-foot-3 and 190 pound Bradenton, FL, native has more than 40 schools on his offer sheet, which is nothing short of insane. The highlights of his offer sheet includes the Auburn Tigers, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State, and Oklahoma.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions for Williams favor Oklahoma by a heavy margin to land his commitment. And the Crystal Ball Predictions for Hall are mostly cloudy, with some either leaning toward Clemson or Oklahoma.

Head coach Lincoln Riley clearly has his eye on both of these Florida wide receivers that could be real game-changers at the skill positions. Clemson could also work their way into the mix along with Alabama, LSU, and Georgia, for these two wideouts.

Texas does have one or two commits in their 2021 recruiting class that could play at wide receiver. The highlight of that group is five-star Denton-Ryan athlete/wide receiver Ja’Tavion Sanders. The Denton, TX, native is the lone five-star commit in the 2021 Longhorns recruiting class.
