2. Keaontay Ingram, Running Back

With the move of former Texas football four-star signee and converted quarterback Roschon Johnson back to his original position, the door will really open up for to-be junior running back Keaontay Ingram to star for this offense. Ingram split the workload with Roschon for most of last season, and the carries will continue to go to multiple sources.

But there’s no way that Ingram shouldn’t be the leading rusher for the Longhorns out of the gates next season. While the likes of redshirt freshman Derrian Brown and incoming freshman former five-star recruit Bijan Robinson could take some touches out of Ingram’s hands, it won’t do all that much to hamper his production.

Robinson is the future for the Longhorns out of the backfield, and Brown should still be able to contribute a lot. But Ingram is the mainstay that the Longhorns will turn to on most downs in 2020. Roschon will be moving back to quarterback in all likelihood and to-be senior Daniel Young shouldn’t play too prominent of a role.

Last season, Ingram racked up 1,095 total yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry on 144 rushing attempts. Ingram also continued to elevate his play as a pass blocker and a receiver out of the backfield. He had more receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches last season than he did as a freshman.
