Texas Football: 3 NCAA Transfer Portal Longhorns QB targets
Our 2020 NCAA Transfer Portal Big Board for the Texas football program this offseason begins with the quarterback position.
In the midst of the 2020 college football offseason, the NCAA Transfer Portal is something that can still be a source of consistent news for programs around the entire country. The Texas football program is one of those that can hit the transfer portal often to fill positional voids under the direction of head coach Tom Herman.
Since the 2018 offseason, Texas turned to the transfer portal to fill multiple positional voids. During the 2018 offseason, Texas landed offensive tackle Calvin Anderson and running back Tre Watson to try and piece together a more complete depth chart on the offensive side of the ball. Texas got Anderson from the Rice Owls and Watson from the Cal Golden Bears.
Can Texas do the same during the 2020 offseason to try and fill out their depth chart at positions of need?
They certainly could go after a number of transfer candidates that could help improve the roster. Zeroing in on where Texas needs help could be key. I have formed a big board of various positions to which Texas can turn to find answers in problem areas.
While Texas does have a host of positional needs to still fill out in during the 2020 offseason, they likely don’t need much help at quarterback. There is still the possibility that Texas tries to take on one quarterback transfer that Herman and the rest of the coaching staff could buy into as a low-risk option.
Here’s a look into the definitive big board of potential quarterback candidates in the Texas Longhorns football program during the 2020 offseason out of the NCAA Transfer Portal.
