The last two tight ends on this list would have more proven experience for the Texas football program to go off of out of the transfer portal. Next up on the list for the Longhorns is the former West Virginia Mountaineers to-be redshirt junior Jovani Haskins. He might not be the most highly touted player on this list during his recruitment, but Haskins is a good target for most programs.

As one of the waive of former West Virginia football players that put their names in the transfer portal last year when former head coach Dana Holgorsen was lured away to join the Houston Cougars, Haskins is a pretty solid tight end to haul in. Any program would be good to land the services of Haskins for two more years if he elects to stay that long.

Haskins should be vying for immediate eligibility come the start of the 2020 season.

This 6-foot-4 and 245 pound Bergenfield, NJ, native and Bergenfield High School product has played in 11 career games while registering 20 catches for 166 receiving yards and one touchdown. He held offers from the Virginia Tech Hokies, Iowa Hawkeyes, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Kentucky Wildcats, coming out of high school.

Originally a Miami commit, Haskins has already transferred out once when he landed at West Virginia.

Haskins was also a pretty good run blocker, able to seal the edge quickly.

Versatility is something that Haskins could really bring to the table for the Longhorns. If Brewer isn’t able to stay healthy again this fall, Haskins would be a nice insurance policy.
