Most of the playing time for the Penn State Nittany Lions former four-star defensive tackle recruit and to-be redshirt junior Ellison Jordan came back during the 2017 season. Jordan made his debut along the Penn State defensive line back in 2017, against the Akron Zips. He racked up just one total tackle, though, in that Penn State win over Akron.

In total throughout his freshman season, Jordan registered nine total tackles 0.5 sacks, and one pass deflection. Jordan got to play in six games during his freshman campaign. He followed that up with two total tackles and one sack in the lone game he played in during the 2018 season, which came against the Kent State Golden Flashes out of the MAC.

But that’s where the run ended for Jordan, who has only played in one game total over the course of the last two seasons. Jordan has a lengthy history of injuries and off-the-field health concerns that plagued him in the last two years. He was rushed to the hospital last offseason when he was dealing with knee pain and a high fever.

During the 2018 offseason, Jordan was dealing with a broken kneecap that limited him throughout spring and fall camp. He was squarely put behind the eight ball for his last two seasons with the Penn State program.

Maybe a change of scenery and some additional rest could help Jordan to round out his college career. The 6-foot and 320 pound talented defensive tackle is a native of Baltimore, MD, and a product of Gilman High School. He ranked as the nation’s No. 180 2016 high school prospect and the No. 20 defensive tackle. The only scholarship offer he had coming out of high school from a Big 12 program came from the West Virginia Mountaineers.
