Texas Football: Tom Herman’s family makes big donation amid COVID-19
A nice donation to the Central Texas Food Bank looks like it came this week from the Texas football head coach Tom Herman.
The head coach of the Texas football program Tom Herman helped out in the battle against the spread of novel coronavirus domestically of late. Herman’s family is helping out in the fight against COVID-19 and its outbreak in the state of Texas.
The Central Texas Food Bank apparently received a sizable donation from the Herman family this week. This came in the midst of all the discussion surrounding what could happen with the Texas Longhorns football program as spring camp was already supposed to be underway. Yet, pretty much every major sport around the country is placed on hiatus at the moment if it was set to have actual game action this month.
President and CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank posted on his Twitter timeline on March 20 that Herman gave the “generous gift” to them.
The Central Texas Food Bank is closely connected with a lot of partners, namely grocery stores, around the city of Austin. They are one of the orginzations tasked with helping to move everyday life along in the struggles around this area of the state that is dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak.
On March 21, the official Texas football Twitter team page quoted the post from Chubbs saying “we’re all in this together”. That was followed by a “Hook’Em” emoji.
The University of Texas-Austin president Greg Fenves posted an update on his Twitter page on March 20, since he is in self-quarantine at home right now. His wife tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.

A number of other people associated with the school have tested positive for COVID-19, stemming all the way up to names like former Longhorns basketball star forward Kevin Durant.
