Texas Football: 3 NCAA Transfer Portal S Longhorns targets
While he is more unproven than either Pollard or Ladler, one of the potential gem finds in the transfer portal this offseason could be the Florida State Seminoles rising junior safety A.J. Lytton. A good two-year project for the Texas football program could be landing Lytton out of the transfer portal.
The Dr. Henry Wise High School product got to play in spots of 12 different games in his two-year career in Tallahassee. Florida State and former head coach Willie Taggart never made the best use of his talents, though. He racked up 27 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one interception, and two pass deflections during his time at Florida State.
The former four-star recruit and top 50 ranked 2018 high school prospect in the nation is about the most highly touted safety name in the transfer portal right now, purely in terms of recruiting ranking. Lytton also ranked as the No. 7 cornerback and the No. 3 high school prospect out of Maryland during the 2018 recruiting cycle.
Lytton held offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Clemson Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Oklahoma Sooners, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Tennessee Volunteers, coming out of high school. But the Upper Marlboro, MD, native wound up taking his talents to Florida State by committing in April 2017.
