1. Tennessee Volunteers

The offensive line situation that former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive coordinator and current Tennessee Volunteers head coach Jeremy Pruitt is going to run into in the trenches is not the greatest this year. Tennessee does have a lot of potential for their group of starters along the offensive line, but they’re very young.

Tennessee is projected to start all but two of their positions along the offensive line with underclassmen. Former five-star recruits like left tackle Wanya Morris and right tackle Darnell Wright offer promise, but haven’t proven themselves enough to solidify a Tennessee offensive line that turned over a lot of their starters from a season ago.

Last season saw more success for the Vols in the win column, but it wasn’t much thanks to their ground game. Tennessee struggled to get a push in the trenches for their stable of running backs, as they averaged less than 150 rushing yards per game and one touchdown. That came out to an average of just around four yards per carry flat.

Next. Texas Transfer Portal Big Board: Safety. dark

The fact that the Vols get talented running backs like Ty Chandler and Tim Jordan back this fall means that they shouldn’t put it all to waste by lacking depth and experience along the offensive line. There’s a number of options they could pursue in the transfer portal this offseason, but Okafor sticks out since he’s started some games in the past and comes in with around three years of playing experience from his time with Texas.
