Another finalist list from an offeree of the 2021 Texas football recruiting class dropped on March 30, including the Longhorns from a 4-Star OT.

The finalist lists keep dropping for key targets of the 2021 Texas football recruiting class in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic. That is about all that is going on in the worlds of college football and basketball at the moment, though. Texas had its men’s basketball season called before it could play a game in the Big 12 Tournament or NCAA Tournament thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak. The football program could have the entirety of spring camp and group summer workouts cancelled out too, if things keep trending the way they are currently.

However, the Texas Longhorns football program can keep its sights set on finding more success on the recruiting trail heading into the thick of the spring months. The recruiting trail is staying very active for the Longhorns of late, without much success in the way of commitments, though.

Amid a loaded class along the offensive line for Texas during the 2021 recruiting cycle, the next big target could be in sight. Four-star Saguaro offensive tackle Bram Walden did include the Longhorns on his list of 12 finalist schools that he dropped on his Twitter timeline on March 30.

The bulk of the schools on the list from any one conference are from the PAC-12. And the Longhorns were the only school among his 12 finalists out of the Big 12. The rest of the schools included in his top 12 were the Oregon Ducks, Stanford Cardinal, Washington Huskies, USC Trojans, Arizona State Sun Devils, Utah Utes, Michigan Wolverines, LSU Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Texas A&M Aggies, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Texas and Texas A&M do appear to be in another smaller recruiting battle here. This 6-foot-4 and 270 pound Scottsdale, AZ, native offensive lineman at least has the Longhorns in a niche if he decides the Big 12 is the right fit for him.

Walden ranks as the nation’s No. 89 2021 high school prospect, No. 14 offensive tackle, and No. 2 prospect out of Arizona. The only offer he received through the entire month of March came from the Miami Hurricanes, back on March 17.

Other significant offers that Walden cut on the way to arriving at his top 12 finalist list included the Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, Iowa State Cyclones, Oklahoma State Cowboys, UCLA Bruins, BYU Cougars, and Arizona Wildcats. He had more than two dozen schools on his lengthy offer sheet before cutting down his list to 12.

The latest visit that Walden took was an unofficial with head coach Clay Helton and USC back on March 7. And the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions do have the sole expert to put his pick in going with a PAC-12 school, Oregon.
