Great news coming for a former player out of the Texas basketball program, Kevin Durant, who is reportedly recovering from COVID-19.

One of the most prominent former players out of the Texas basketball program ever to don the burnt orange (even if it was for only one season) is a currently recovering star forward of the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant. KD reportedly (New York Post) is one of four Nets players that is currently recovering after testing positive for COVID-19 last month.

Here’s what that piece from the New York Post on April 1 had to say on the matter of former Texas Longhorns basketball standout KD and the rest of their players that tested positive for COVID-19.

"“So far, everybody is healthy. The guys that were, that tested positive, have cleared their 14 days’ self-isolation and quarantine,” Marks said Wednesday in a conference call. “They are still practicing with social distancing like the rest of us. They are cleared like everybody, like the rest of the team and the staff right now.”"

General manager Sean Marks seems to have his players heading in the right direction after the scary COVID-19 diagnosis that happened around two weeks ago.

After these four Nets players tested positive for COVID-19, their entire traveling party went into self-isolation for the normal two weeks.

KD now joins a list that includes Detroit Pistons big man Christian Wood and Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell of those NBA players that tested positive for COVID-19 and are now recovering. Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart and Jazz center Rudy Gobert were two other big names for NBA players that tested positive for COVID-19.

KD and Mitchell will also be taking part in an NBA 2K20 players-only tournament that will be airing live on ESPN starting on April 3. The tournament will be ordered by player overall in the game. KD will be taking on Miami Heat guard and Slam Dunk Contest Champion Derrick Jones Jr. in the first round of the 2K players-only tournament.
