The second name on the list of the two offensive linemen for this recruiting cycle that the Longhorns must really prioritize is five-star All Saints Episcopal offensive tackle Tommy Brockermeyer. This 6-foot-6 and 285 pound Fort Worth, TX, native is one of the most highly touted offensive linemen in recent memory that the Longhorns could realistically land.

But given how Tommy and his brother James are a once in a generation type get as a potential package deal this cycle, Herman and co. are going to have to lay it all out on the line to land their pledges. Tommy ranks as the nation’s No. 4 2021 high school prospect, top offensive tackle, and top prospect out of Texas.

James Brockermeyer ranks as the nation’s No. 204 2021 high school prospect, No. 2 center, and the No. 34 prospect out of Texas. He plays a different position than Tommy, but both are clearly starting caliber players in the trenches once they reach the next level.

And the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions for James do have four experts picking him to land with Texas, and one with Alabama.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions for Tommy do still favor Texas over Alabama and the reigning National Champion runner-up Clemson Tigers. Four of seven expert Crystal Ball Predictions favor Texas, two go to the Crimson Tide, and one to Clemson.

At this point, the main competition that Texas has for the Brockermeyers seems to be coming from the Crimson Tide.
