Honorable Mentions

So much running back talent in the Big 12, and in some of the bowl and non-conference games, Texas played in since 2010 is hard to sort out. But here’s some names that just missed out on the list.

Lache Seastrunk, Baylor

The rushing efficiency that the former Baylor Bears star Lache Seastrunk brought to the table just as their program was rising to prominence was unreal. Seastrunk totaled nearly 2,300 total yards from scrimmage and 19 touchdowns while averaging 7.5 yards per carry in two years with Baylor.

David Montgomery, Iowa State

Just when head coach Matt Campbell and the Iowa State Cyclones were rising to prominence in the Big 12, their former star running back David Montgomery was leading the way. Montgomery totaled more than 3,500 total yards from scrimmage and 26 touchdowns over the course of three years.

Johnathan Franklin, UCLA

Two of the four seasons former UCLA Bruins running back Johnathan Franklin spent in college were well over 1,000 yard-campaigns. Tallying up nearly 5,000 total yards from scrimmage and 34 touchdowns namely came during Franklin’s senior campaign at UCLA.

Pooka Williams, Kansas

If only he played for a better team, to-be junior Pooka Williams would be a much more productive rusher. Averaging seven yards per carry during his true freshman campaign while tallying up 2,689 total yards from scrimmage in the last two years proves the value of Williams.

C.J. Prosise, Notre Dame

Both college and NFL success marked what the former Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back C.J. Prosise brought to the table for much of the 2010’s. In 2014 and 2015, Prosise averaged around seven yards per carry while totaling up more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 15 scores.
