The long-term accomplishments for former Texas lengthy star 6-foot-7 guard Jordan Hamilton weren’t as great as James, but that’s because his career was half as long. Hamilton played for Texas as a freshman in the final year for James. The latter essentially passed the torch to Hamilton during the 2010 offseason.

In a good run in which he started all 36 games that he played in 2010-11, Hamilton averaged 18.6 points per game, 7.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks, while shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.9 percent from the charity stripe. He also posted a stellar offensive rating of 115.6 and defensive rating of 90.6 as a sophomore.

Hamilton would manage a 10.4 box plus/minus rating, 6.7 win shares, .231 win shares per 40 minutes, 55.0 true shooting percentage, and 25.6 player efficiency rating in 2010-11. Most of those stat categories were good for (if not tops) the top three in the Big 12. He was also a true volume scorer, leading the Big 12 in field goal attempts as a sophomore and finishing second in field goals made.

Pretty much all of the accolades Hamilton would receive came during his sophomore season. He received All-Big 12 honors in 2010-11, All-Big 12 Tournament Team, consensus All-American, and he was a Wooden Award Finalist. Former Colorado Buffaloes guard Alec Burks and Kansas Jayhawks forward Marcus Morris were the only two other Wooden Award Finalists from the Big 12 that year.
