2. New England Patriots

The main reasons why the New England Patriots stuck around in the news cycle of late was the combination of all-time great quarterback Tom Brady leaving for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the team plane supplying more than one million masks and pieces of personal protective equipment to healthcare workers. Brady will be playing his final years with the Buccaneers, and head coach Bill Belichick will still be sticking around with the Patriots to salvage something in the years to come.

Whether it be the likes of former Auburn Tigers and Baylor Bears quarterback Jarrett Stidham, or someone they pick up in this draft class, that is the starter this coming season, the receiving corps still needs an upgrade. Brady was lacking sufficient skill position help last season, which is a big reason why the Patriots were ousted by the Tennessee Titans in the Wildcard Round.

That can’t happen for the next starting quarterback if the Patriots want to win the AFC East again this coming season. If veteran wideout Julian Edelman can stay healthy, that will be a big help for the Patriots receiving corps. Former Arizona State Sun Devil N’Keal Harry needs to take a step forward this year too.

But the Patriots need to add at least one more wide receiver to truly bring a quality group to the table in 2020. The Patriots need someone who can be a speedier deep threat, but still be a multiple wide receiver. Duvernay proved he can be a good outlet on intermediate routes last season while still maintaining his status as a speedy deep threat.
