A recent offer to go out from the 2022 Texas football recruiting class went to a game-changing 4-Star WR, Liberty’s Evan Stewart.

A very talented wide receiver target of the 2022 Texas football recruiting class, four-star Liberty product Evan Stewart, recently received his offer from this program back on March 19. Stewart is picking up a lot of steam in his recruitment of late in terms of various offers coming his way.

Since March 19 alone, Stewart received offers from the Texas Longhorns football program, Auburn Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, Florida Gators, SMU Mustangs, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Nebraska Cornhuskers. His offer from Nebraska was his latest to come in, on April 7.

In total, Stewart has received offers from more than a dozen different schools.

Other significant offers that Stewart holds came from the Kansas Jayhawks, North Texas Mean Green, and Baylor Bears. The first scholarship offer he received from an FBS program came from Baylor back on Nov. 23, 2019.

Moreover, Stewart recently opened up on his recent Texas offer, his game individually, and what he’s doing during the novel coronavirus pandemic that effectively brought the sports world to a halt.

On the offer from Texas last month, there are a few things that sticks out about the school and the football program to Stewart. Here’s what he had to say on the matter: “well the fact that they are close to home and that I would be in state for my family and their faculty staff is cool”.

Although, Texas and the rest of the schools that offered Stewart of late don’t seem to be having a huge impact on his commitment decision as of now. Here’s what he said on the offers he’s got so far: “there are no schools that are sticking out right now all of them are equal playing ground”.

The fact that Stewart is essentially right in the middle of his high school football career means that it’s not a huge surprise that he doesn’t have any particular leaning at the moment.

For the time being, a skilled wideout like Stewart can continue to develop his game. And Stewart has a couple of NFL and college players that he modeled his game around including Kansas City Chiefs speedster Tyreek Hill, Oklahoma NFL Draft prospect CeeDee Lamb, and defending National Champion Ja’Marr Chase.

As far as contact goes with various coaching staffs during the COVID-19-induced in-person dead period on the recruiting trail that is to last through May 31, communication is made more difficult. Stewart said “we haven’t talked much after the offer” on the contact with the Texas coaching staff. But the COVID-19 outbreak is a big causation of that.

While COVID-19 is taking over the news cycle and effectively placing all sports on pause at this moment, Stewart has plenty of tasks to keep him occupied. He said: “I mean school and workouts are keeping me occupied and my video games and I’m just chillin other than that taking time to myself”.

The recruitment of Stewart seems to be moving along as expected for most prospects that are just starting to see the offers pile up in the last couple months. Once visits start to resume, then we could see Stewart prioritize schools further.
