A potential hidden gem could be found in the 2020 NFL Draft with former Texas football senior starting defensive end Malcolm Roach.

The 2020 NFL Draft is just a few weeks away, and is some of the only tangible sports action going at the moment. And the NFL Draft is the only real major provider for sports news in any of the major professional sports leagues in the United States during the whole month of April. There is something on the line for a number of former players out of the Texas football program too.

More than likely, there are four players that are near-locks to at least get picked up in the 2020 NFL Draft. There are two or three more Texas Exes in this draft class that could avoid getting signed as undrafted free agents. But those four aforementioned near-locks to get drafted include wide receivers Collin Johnson and Devin Duvernay, safety Brandon Jones, and defensive end/edge rusher Malcolm Roach.

The last of those four Texas Exes mentioned is a 6-foot-3 and 290 pound standout athlete and gifted edge rusher. Roach is a forced to be reckoned with at the line of scrimmage and carries a strong frame with him.

Roach never quite lived up to his billing after his freshman season with Texas. Expectations were high, but he didn’t seem to mesh well with head coach Tom Herman and defensive coordinator Todd Orlando as well as he did former head coach Charlie Strong. The freshman campaign for Roach was under the direction of Strong. Herman and Orlando were his coaches in his last three years on the Forty Acres.

Will there be an NFL team that buys into what Roach brings to the table maybe in day 3 of the draft?

Here’s a look into the three best landing spots for former Texas Longhorns football defensive end Malcolm Roach in the 2020 NFL Draft.
